Last night i went out the to the bars and had a wonderful time. Got pretty hammered for the first time in Charlotte. I went to a thing called alive after 5 which is a gathering in Downtown Charlotte with alot of young professionals and there was a band and bars everywhere. We went to another bar after that which was fun as well. All in all I didn't spend much money for a night out on the town. Anyways, after i got home i obviously decided playing poker was a great idea.
Now before i get into the play of my night, i would like to explain my drunk play. Playing drunk always hurts your ability to make good decisions. However, for me, drunk play kind of allows me to forget about the value of the chips. Which is nice and allows me to play a very difficult type of poker to beat. I am too aggressive for sure when i'm hammered but not to an extent that its really bad for me in the long run. That said.
I saw a game that i hadn't ever seen run and always kind of wanted to play. Its a .40/.80 deep stacked game. This is a game where the max buyin is $160 and everyone has 200bbs in front of them. Its a great game if you know how to play with alot of chips behind you... and lucky for me i do. I ran great on the table. I was just the right drunk to play good solid poker and not care about losing $160. Here's a few notable hands...

alright in this hand I LOVE MY LINE. I think this is a brilliant play that gets the maximum value out of the hand. I took alot of time this morning and looked at this one. And here's why i think this is the max value i can get out of this hand. If i had bet the flop, i could have set myself up to win a big pot when the turn made his straight and my flush. However, I can get myself in a tough spot if the raiser has a big hand and wants to shut me out of the pot. If i get raised on the flop, i will either call, push or fold to the raise. I don't like call cause that gives away my hand. And he will put me on a draw and slow down if a card i want drops and speed up if a card i don't want drops unless its a non-heart 9 ... which for the record is his lotto card. I don't like reraising cause he's gonna lay down any weak holding and call any really strong one or reraise Allin with a real strong holding. This makes me no money or shuts me out the of the pot. I like the call because that really makes him wonder what I've got. And it looks like I've got an AJ and can be pushed off. Anyways on the turn i think a check raise gives away my hand again so i just opt to call. On the river, I made this bet immediately tryin to set off his timing tells and provoke a possible raise with air and a call with some marginal holdings. I don't look very strong just waiting til the river to throw out a bet and it gets called immediately. I think this hand was brilliantly played.

Alright with this hand, its another great play. I get 3-bet outta the blinds which at this point i've got a very loose image and am raising alot from the button. I don' give too much credit to the 3-bet. The flop comes out pretty ugly for my hand. however, the way this guy bet this amount really looked weak to me. I thought for a bit and made the call knowing that there were alot of cards that could come on the turn to make him shut down completely... if he wasn't planning to do so already. The turn puts 4 to a straight on the board... i love the turn. He checks as i expected. I throw out a roughly pot sized bet pretty quickly. This looks like 2-pair more than it does a straight imo but it still makes him wonder if i am planning to get away from my hand for the rest of his chips. To my delight he folds immediately. Well played float by me.
I ended up leaving the table up $50 after losing a few small pots. Not bad for a drunky.
Next i spot 2 very bad games of headsup $100nl poker going. I put myself on the waiting list and finally get on. My first opponent was BAD! He coughed up something like $120 to me. Here's a few hands from his play...

I ended up just raping this guy for his cash in those 2 pots... which i obviously had him tilting for these pots by playing solid poker.
My next opponent was not as bad as the first but he was close. I won $100 from him by the end of the match and here's a few of those hands.

These are all interesting hands... and the third one is just for fun.
The third opponent i played only has one HH to show cause he moved allin on the first hand...

i decided this was a hit and run... and made the call with A7... and turned out to be better than i thought. I figured he had something like KJ.
My fourth opponent i took another $109 from...

while this one is a bad beat... i analyzed it this morning and i really still like the play on my part. I made it look like i was slowplaying a monster and was still 60/40 against the worst of his holdings and i was putting the pressure on him. So good play by me and a better river.

and again my opponent goes all tilty!
Anyways my 5th and 6th opponents didn't go so well. I ended up giving $100 back total. So all in all i was up around $250 on the night! and couldn't be happier with it.
